先生的手 Sensei's Hand - 新编曲版本翻唱+和弦 (remake cover+chords)

That's what happens when you are really bogged down with work and everything. Recently though I finally reconnected with music again, and it has helped me to regulate my mental fatigue.Today marks my mentor Daisaku Ikeda's 89th birthday, and so here's a timely opportunity for me to dedicate my latest cover to him. I do so because I cannot even begin to describe how much my family and I have been encouraged and guided by his lion-hearted spirit. It's not a stretch to say I owe what I have to this great man, by and large because his untiring efforts in spreading the hope-filled philosophy of Nichiren Buddhism through the Soka Gakkai, which has in turn changed the lives of many forever more. That's not forgetting the peace proposals he's submitted annually to the United Nations, and the countless world leaders he's met and helped build bridges of friendship.This song was first written by a guy named Jacky some 10 years ago, also from Singapore Soka Association. I don't know him in person, but I saw a video here on Youtube in which he shared his thoughts behind the creation of this song. The original piano and vocal version found online is a coagulation of his heartfelt reflections. Straightforward and raw, all the feels.Like Jacky, I recognise that my mentor is growing old and would one day no longer be with me. With all the hardships I've had to overcome in 2016, I find myself doing a remake of this song coincidentally a decade later. I decided to put my own feelings into the song, and I appreciate you taking time to listen to this. I only hope I do justice to the songwriter with my modernised rearrangement. I hope Sensei lives at least another 10 years so maybe another person would do another remake of this song again then.This video is also dedicated to the members who are looking to learn how to play this song.
