The album "Gba Akoso" meaning "Take Control" was recorded in 1988 by C.A.C. Good Women Choir Ibadan. Led by Mrs. D.A. Fasoyin. The album came at a time when practically nothing seems to be working well in our continent (Africa). The album is a prayer song that God should take absolute control of our continent. At that particular time unemployment was on the increase, people can hardly afford to buy foodstuff, farm produce became very scarce, businesses were folding up, many women took to prostitution as a result of the hardship in the land, armed robbery was on the increase while hunger was vividly seen in the land.Gba Akoso track uses Nigeria narrative to tell the story of what was happening in our continent at that particular point in time. The album is a 6 (six) tracks song with very powerful and inspiring lyrics that will edify the soul of everyone that listen to the songs. In addition to Gba Akoso, 3 (three) other tracks are also prayer songs while the last 2 (two) tracks are praise songs, sang in Ekiti dialect which is an indigenous language in Nigeria. The prayer tracks are:Yio Ti Pe To "How Long Shall It Take"Orun Nile "Heaven Is Home"Ayo Ni Mafi L'aiye Ja "i Will End My Life In Joy"While the praise tracks are:Oluwa Ma Seun O "Oh Lord We Give You Praise"Ope Meta "Three Praises"We give God the glory that this album is still very relevant today because some of the ills identified when this album was recorded in 1988 is still happening today in our society. And our prayer is that God will eventually Take Control of our situation in Nigeria and our Continent as a whole, Amen.
