The song reached the number spot in New Zealand, Australia and Canada. When Robin Gibb's father passed away because of kidney failure on May 20, 2012, he picked up his phone and played "I Started a Joke" on Youtube and played it. He put the phone on his father's chest and that was the first time he broke down.
